Reimagining recovery narratives following adversity
Child's Pose
The figure is me in the yoga position, Child's Pose. The pose represents my inner child. Recently, I found the courage to connect with my inner child, a process that felt daunting before. The clay offered an opportunity to express my inner child, and now, having worked through this, I feel lighter and happier.
Yoga and meditation are essential parts of my routine; they calm my mind and stop my thoughts racing. Also, I find exercise helps me feel happier, stronger and more calm. Yoga can feel playful, and Child's Pose is a resting pose, often done at the end of a routine. This piece represents my connection to my inner child, the journey it took me to get there, and the daily process of looking after myself.
