Project Becomings moved the research beyond the university and into a public exhibition, bringing together creative works developed through the research alongside the words and experiences of co-researchers.

The exhibition invited visitors to encounter childhood trauma and recovery differently — not through a single story of what recovery should look like, but through images, objects, materials, words and experiences that could be explored in their own ways.

Rather than simply displaying research findings, the exhibition became a space in which research, creative practice and public engagement came together. Visitors could move through the works, spend time with particular pieces and contribute their own responses to what they encountered.

This digital exhibition offers another way to enter that space: to explore the works, hear the words that accompanied them and encounter some of the responses left by visitors.
