Get Creative

At the exhibition, we wish to provide you with the opportunity to get creative.

You do not need any prior experience to take part.

Our staff and volunteers are around to encourage and support you within each of our making stations. They will be wearing orange T-shirts. You do not however have to take part in the creating part of the exhibition. We promise the staff and volunteers are equally happy to simply smile and leave you to your own thoughts if that is what you want.

There are three spaces to get creative. Here is a little about each one.

Body Mapping

Create your own Body Map. Body Mapping focuses on the body as a resource to support and reinforce the internal sense of self-agency and resilience.Body mapping is a form of expressive art that capitalises on the body as a theme for narratives of lived experiences.

Body mapping involves tracing around your body to create a life-sized outline. This outline is then drawn and written upon in a reflective and creative process that enables someone to express their personal and embodied life experiences. We will be focusing on the theme of "recovery".

Stop Frame Animation

Stop motion is an animated filmmaking technique in which objects are physically moved in small movements between individually photographed frames so that they will appear to have independent movement when the series of frames is played back.

We have story boards for your to create a character and story using a range of creative tools including, lego, drawing, figures and other interesting bits.

If you would like you can add your animation to the exhibition and see it on the screen!

Thread work

We have a range of coloured threads for you to use to weave, stitch, platt and knot, however you like!

When you have finished it would be great for us to hang it with the other creations in the exhibition.

REMOTE

Not able to attend or can't stay long? No worries! Just like recovery, creativity and learning doesn't just have to be done in one place!

We would love to see any artwork you do elsewhere and maybe add it to our exhibition.

We hope this can help build a community and connection. This can be anonymous if you like. Just send us a message with a picture and description to projectbecomings@gmail.com
