Methodology

Project Becomings used a feminist participatory action research (FPAR) methodology, informed by post-qualitative inquiry and feminist new materialist thinking. Rather than treating participants as subjects of research, the project worked with survivor co-researchers as active contributors to how knowledge about trauma and recovery was explored, created and understood.

The methodology was relational, creative and emergent. It recognised that knowledge is not produced through words alone, but can develop through bodies, materials, relationships, spaces, affects and the process of making together. This shaped not only the methods used, but how the research itself unfolded.
